Artwork guide

Good artwork is the biggest factor in how your print turns out. This page covers what we accept and how to prepare it. If you are not sure, upload what you have and we will check it before printing.

File types we accept

  • PDF is best for print, especially with vector artwork.
  • SVG works well for logos and simple graphics, because it stays sharp at any size.
  • PNG is good for logos with a transparent background.
  • JPG and WebP are fine for photos and full-colour designs.

Files must be under the size limit shown on the product page. Word, Canva links, Photoshop and Illustrator source files cannot be uploaded directly. Export them as PDF or PNG first.

Resolution

When you upload an image, we compare its pixel size with the size you chose and show a quality note. The guide we use is the number of pixels per inch at the printed size.

Pixels per inch What it means
250 or more Sharp. Good to print.
150 to 249 Acceptable, but fine detail may look soft.
Under 150 Likely to look blurry. Please send a larger file.

PDF and SVG vector files are always treated as sharp, because they are not made of pixels.

Bleed and safe area

If your design has a background colour or image that runs to the edge, extend it about 3 mm past the cut line (the bleed). Keep important text and logos at least 3 mm inside the cut line, so a small cutting shift does not clip them. We confirm exact requirements for each product when we check your file.

Transparent backgrounds

For logos that should sit directly on the material, upload a PNG or SVG with a transparent background. A white box around a logo will print as a white box.

Colours

Screens show colour using light, and print uses ink, so printed colours can look slightly different from what you see on screen. Very bright neons and some deep blues are the usual ones that shift. If an exact brand colour matters, tell us when you order.

Black, kraft and clear materials

Printing on kraft or black material gives a different result from printing on white. Light inks may look muted on kraft, and white artwork on a black material needs to be set up as white, not as transparent. The live preview on each product page gives you an idea of how it will look, but it is an illustration, not a proof.
